The work
Compute supply in Australia is fragmented. Capacity sits behind different providers, on different terms, with different constraints on where a workload is allowed to run. Deciding where a job should go is a real problem with real consequences, and it is the problem we work on.
That means distributed scheduling, orchestration across heterogeneous infrastructure, and an operations surface that shows an operator why a decision was made rather than only what it was. The work is closer to infrastructure engineering than to application development, and the constraints are the interesting part.
The team is small, which is the honest description of both the opportunity and the demand: scope is wide, ownership is real, and there is nobody else to hand a hard problem to.
